La Valdichiana

We are located in Valdichiana, an  alluvial valley in central Italy between Arezzo and Siena (Tuscany), Perugia and Terni (Umbria). The landscape is hilly and is crossed by two rivers: the Canale Maestro della Chiana and Chiani.
 
The Valdichiana area extends over 23 municipalities in the provinces of Arezzo, Siena, Perugia and Terni, it tends to divide the valley into three areas: Val di Chiana, Arezzo, Val di Chiana and Val di Chiana Roman.
 
Cortona town, with its approximately 23000 inhabitants,  in the province of Arezzo, is the main cultural and tourist center of the Val di Chiana, right after the provincial capital Arezzo.
 
We are on the border between Tuscany and Umbria, on a hill about 600 meters above the sea; the Etruscans considered Cortona a strategic location and it is still nowadays, in fact, with short trips you can reach important artistic and cultural centers such as Siena, Perugia, Arezzo, Montepuciano, Pienza, Assisi, Spoleto, Orvieto and the Trasimeno Lake.
